An established building services provider is seeking an HVAP Day Engineer to join their team on a prestigious data centre site in Hayes, near Uxbridge. This is a static Monday-Friday role ideal for engineers with strong critical environment experience and an active HVAP qualification.

Role Overview: As the HVAP Day Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of all M&E systems across the data centre. You’ll operate and maintain high-voltage systems, respond to faults, and manage planned maintenance routines to protect uptime in a business-critical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Take ownership of high-voltage switching operations as the HV Authorised Person
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety procedures and permit systems
  • Monitor UPS systems, standby generators, BMS controls, HVAC systems, and CRAC units
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs on key infrastructure equipment
  • Maintain up-to-date records and complete job reports via CAFM system
  • Support subcontractors and ensure works are completed to high standards
  • Participate in site audits, incident investigations, and continuous improvement reviews
  • Liaise with the client and ensure a professional and responsive service is delivered

Qualifications & Experience:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Valid and in-date HV Authorised Person (HVAP) ticket - Essential
  • Experience working in a critical environment - ideally data centres
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, UPS, generators, cooling systems, and building management systems (BMS)
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and permit control
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
