A fantastic opportunity to work for a Facilities Management and Building Maintenance provider who are recruiting for Fabric Maintenance Operatives / Multi-Skilled Operatives across the London area. This is a permanent position offering a salary between Β£40,000 and Β£55,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
A company van with private use, fuel card, uniform, tablet, mobile phone, and specialist tools are all provided. Excellent opportunities for career progression, ongoing training, and development are also available.
Job Role
- You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:00am β 4:30pm, working a total of 40 hours per week.
- The successful candidates will primarily work across education and education accommodation portfolios throughout London, with occasional travel into the Home Counties to provide holiday and sickness cover when required.
- Engineers are expected to be highly competent, technically strong, and confident in carrying out both planned and reactive fabric maintenance within a demanding but rewarding environment.
- The role of a Fabric Maintenance Operative / Multi-Skilled Operative is to undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and minor project works across a range of commercial and residential-style buildings. This includes internal and external building maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs, and general fabric works.
Relevant Experience Includes But Is Not Limited To:
- Carpentry and joinery works
- Kitchen installation and repairs
- Bathroom fitting and refurbishment
- Wet room installation and maintenance, including shower trays and flooring
- Plastering and patch repairs
- Hanging and adjusting doors, including fire doors
- General building repairs and maintenance
- Building partition walls
- Dry lining
- Toilet installation and replacement
- Drainage repairs and maintenance
- Groundworks and external fabric repairs
Skills Required
- Formal training and recognised qualifications in a relevant trade discipline such as Carpentry, Plumbing, or Building Maintenance
- Proven experience in planned and reactive building maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites throughout London and surrounding areas
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- PASMA Qualified
- IPAF Qualified
- Ideally 10+ years post-qualification experience
- Experience working within education, student accommodation, or commercial property environments
