An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a well–established specialist services business operating across London and the South East. This is a pivotal role for someone who is passionate about creating a positive safety culture and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and compliance across a diverse operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the company's health, safety and compliance strategy across multiple operational sites.
- Ensure the business remains fully compliant with current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Develop, review and implement health and safety policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver health and safety training, toolbox talks and guidance to managers and employees.
- Support contract managers and operational teams with day–to–day health and safety advice.
- Monitor contractor compliance and ensure high standards are maintained across all projects.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and prepare reports for senior management.
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the business, encouraging employee engagement and continuous improvement.
About You
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager within a facilities management, engineering, building services or specialist services environment.
- Excellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience carrying out audits, inspections and accident investigations.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- A practical, hands–on approach with the ability to influence and drive positive change.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- A full UK driving licence.
