We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mobile Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-growing maintenance division operating across a varied commercial portfolio throughout Surrey and the Merton borough areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team working across a range of commercial properties. The position offers excellent overtime potential, structured call-out support, and long-term career development opportunities.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a variety of commercial properties. You will ensure all electrical systems are operating safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory compliance requirements. This role requires a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding abilities, excellent technical knowledge, and a professional approach when working within occupied buildings.

- £200 standby payment (£1,733 additional annual earnings)

Key Responsibilities
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Carry out scheduled PPM tasks across electrical building services
- Ensure all maintenance is completed in line with site procedures and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and inspections
- Identify and report defects or potential failures during routine maintenance
Reactive Maintenance
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and reactive maintenance requests
- Diagnose and rectify faults across a variety of electrical systems
- Carry out effective repairs to minimise disruption to building users
- Escalate complex issues where necessary in a timely manner
Electrical Systems & Building Services
- Work on a range of electrical systems including lighting, power, distribution boards, emergency lighting and associated building services equipment
- Carry out testing, inspections, and minor installation works where required
- Ensure all systems remain compliant with current regulations and standards
- Support the safe and efficient operation of all site electrical infrastructure
Skills & Experience Required
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (essential)
- 18th Edition qualification (essential)
- AM2 certification (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience post-apprenticeship (essential)
- Proven experience within commercial building maintenance or facilities management
- Full UK driving licence required
