We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Shift Leader to join a high-profile Corporate / Critical Environment building based in the heart of Kings Cross. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering team within a modern 10-floor commercial facility, offering genuine training, progression, and long-term career stability.

You will lead a dedicated 2-man shift team consisting of a Shift Leader and Shift Technician, working alongside 4 shift teams onsite to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of all critical building services.

The Role

As the Electrical Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring maximum uptime and compliance within a critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the onsite shift engineering team
  • Carry out and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Respond to reactive maintenance and emergency breakdowns
  • Operate and maintain critical electrical systems
  • Ensure all statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are followed
  • Manage subcontractors and specialist service providers onsite
  • Complete shift reports and technical documentation
  • Support continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives
  • Provide technical support during incidents and critical situations
Candidate Requirements
  • Fully qualified electrically (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a critical or corporate building environment
  • Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems
  • Experience leading or supervising engineers on shift
  • HV/AP experience advantageous but not essential
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a client-facing environment
