We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Shift Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team based in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer who is looking to develop their career within a professional and supportive environment, with the opportunity to progress into Senior Engineer and further management-level positions.

The Role

As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical building services and electrical systems across the site.

Working as part of a continental shift team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs, while ensuring all systems remain operational and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and building services.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently and safely.
  • Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
  • Carry out routine inspections and testing.
  • Monitor and maintain critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation.
  • Work closely with other engineers and operational teams.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant health & safety procedures.
  • Support contractors and specialist engineering teams when required.
  • Participate in emergency response and out-of-hours maintenance as part of the shift team.
  • The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in commercial, critical environments, facilities management or a similar setting.

  • You Should Have
  • A recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a commercial, industrial or critical environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.

AP (Authorised Person) experience/qualification would be highly desirable, with additional AP bonuses available.
