This is a chance to join one of the most established and respected mission-critical contracts in the Docklands / Canary Wharf area. A market-leading critical engineering provider is expanding its on-site team and is looking for a fully qualified Day Electrical Engineer to support operations within a live, high-availability data centre.
You\\\’ll be joining a thriving, technically strong team on the company\\\’s longest-standing contract, offering exceptional stability, exposure to complex infrastructure, and long-term career development within the critical engineering space.
The Role
Working days only, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the electrical infrastructure that underpins a 24/7 mission-critical environment. The focus is on reliability, compliance, and zero-downtime operations.
This role suits an electrically biased engineer who enjoys working on critical systems and wants to deepen their experience within a professional data centre environment.
What You\\\’ll Be Doing
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across critical electrical systems
- Support live electrical infrastructure including LV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, and power resilience systems
- Respond to faults, alarms, and incidents in line with strict critical response procedures
- Work under permit-to-work and safe systems of work at all times
- Complete detailed logs, reports, and maintenance documentation
- Collaborate closely with shift teams and management to ensure continuous uptime
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement and reliability of site operations
What You\\\’ll Need
- Fully electrically qualified (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience working within FM or building services
- Exposure to critical environments highly desirable (data centres, banking, healthcare, or similar)
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills and understanding of critical power systems
- A professional, methodical approach suited to high-risk, high-availability sites
Desirable Extras
- Previous data centre experience
- HV/LV knowledge or awareness
- Experience working on live critical infrastructure
