Purpose of the Job
To provide leadership, supporting with the management and development of a defined building services account and ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and ensure that contractual commitments are met and exceeded.
- Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of the contract are exploited to deliver increased turnover and profitability, ensure additional services and projects are added, and contracts are re-won on re-tender.
- Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the contract. Review and implement changes for more efficiency if required.
- Ensure the provision of healthy and safe working conditions so that both clients and Company health and safety policy and process are effectively implemented across both company and subcontractors\’ activities and are regularly reviewed.
- Work with the senior leadership team to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective teamwork, and support to colleagues.
- Support the Technical Service Managers with the development of contract financial plans for revenue and profit delivery, reduction of WIP, debt, cost reduction and contract growth, and ensure that these are met and exceeded.
- Ensure appropriate control systems to meet statutory, policy and contractual commitments.
- Ensure a customer focus within all areas of operational activities and that effective relationships are maintained with key client contacts.
- Promote and maintain the core values of the business.
- Provide leadership and guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support, where required to deliver best practice selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
- Deliver effective business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management and team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other publications, as appropriate.
- Support the sales process through solutions development, participation in presentations and consultation meetings, hosting visits, and support to mobilisation as required on new contracts.
- Provide a learning environment, and appropriate training and development planning. Support teams to ensure basic training needs are delivered, employees are fully competent to undertake their roles, and can reach their full future potential.
Accountabilities
- Reporting to the Area General Manager.
- Accountability to the functional heads, as appropriate.
- Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client contacts.
- Line management responsibility for a contract team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
- Financial responsibility for the delivery of Plan commitments for the contract.
Specific Role Requirements
- Support in underperforming areas, or where required.
- Process reviews and improvements (ops and finance).
- Pre-audit reviews; QHSE or AGM audits.
- Support with audit actions completions (guide Technical Service Managers for better understanding and requirements to satisfy auditor for action closures).
- Ownership of the contract, customer support with open tasks, compliance, WIP and billing.
- Management of the portfolio (reactive and remedials), WIP and billing.
- Driving behaviours.
- Client first – build relationship with the client and support when required.
- Customer Feedback – support with complaints resolutions.
- Learning from Experience – support QHSE to deliver LFE to all operatives on the contract.
- Support Account Manager to ensure that key deliverables, SLA\’s, KPI\’s and client expectations are met/exceeded.
- Deputise for Account Manager when absent from the business.
