Our client, a well-established organisation based in London, is currently seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on professional with strong leadership skills and a solid background in building services and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
  • Act as the technical point of contact for mechanical issues on site
  • Supervise and support engineers and contractors where required
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior or lead mechanical engineering role
  • Strong background in mechanical maintenance (HVAC, pumps, motors, pipework, etc.)
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of building services and facilities maintenance
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
