Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – South East London – £39,600

Location: Plumstead, South East London
Salary: up to £39,600 per annum
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00

About the Role

We\’re currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading building maintenance provider at a large multi-tenanted site near Plumstead station. You\’ll be part of a skilled engineering team, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across electrical systems within a modern commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and building services equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Fault-finding and remedial repairs on lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
• Work alongside electrical and building services teams as part of a multi-skilled maintenance operation.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and site documentation.

Requirements

• City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience in a commercial or critical building environment.
• Excellent fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently on shift.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
