Shift Engineering Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Birmingham (Static Site)
Salary: £44,000 - £50,000 + 22% Shift Allowance
Are you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for a Shift Engineering Supervisor to join a busy, static site in Birmingham, leading a team of multi-skilled engineers and maintenance staff in a critical environment.
Working a continental shift pattern, you'll play a key role in ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with contractual service level agreements.
The Role
- Salary of £44,000 - £50,000 plus a 22% shift allowance (£60,000)
- Static site based in Birmingham (no company vehicle required)
- Shift pattern:
- 2 x Days (7:00am - 7:00pm)
- 2 x Nights (7:00pm - 7:00am)
- 4 x Days Off
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of 7 maintenance staff
- Manage daily workloads and allocate resources effectively.
- Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are completed.
- Oversee reactive maintenance and ensure SLA performance targets are achieved.
- Manage engineer absence, including sickness and annual leave cover.
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical and operational issues.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Candidate Requirements
We welcome applications from either Electrical or Mechanical maintenance professionals with previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
Electrical Applicants Must Have:
- AM2
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Mechanical Applicants Must Have One of the Following:
- City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Levels 2 & 3
- City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Levels 2 & 3
- City & Guilds Plumbing Levels 2 & 3
Experience Required
- Previous experience supervising or leading maintenance teams.
- Strong knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
- Experience working to KPIs and SLAs within a facilities management or building services environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
