Invictus UK 2027 is a charity and delivery organisation for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027, taking place in July 2027 at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Founded by The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, in 2014, the Invictus Games uses adaptive sport to support the recovery of Wounded, Injured, and Sick (WIS) service personnel and veterans.
Birmingham 2027 will bring together 550 competitors from over 25 nations across 12 sports, including Archery, Athletics, Cycling, Esports, Indoor Rowing, Laser Run, Pickleball, Powerlifting, Sitting Volleyball, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, and Wheelchair Rugby. The Games are about more than competition. Success is measured in every step forward, every challenge faced, every barrier overcome. Every throw, stride, and lift is a victory.

Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Accreditation & Registration Manager to lead one of the most critical operational workstreams for the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027. Reporting to the Operations Director and Deputy Director for Partners and Participating Nations, you will lead the end-to-end design, delivery, and control of the Games registration and accreditation system. This includes overseeing planning, data management, system delivery, and Games-time operations for all accredited client groups.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Registration & Accreditation Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of a comprehensive accreditation and registration system for all Games client groups, including competitors, families and friends, staff, volunteers, media, contractors, and protocol guests. Ensure a secure, efficient, and user-friendly accreditation process that meets the operational demands of a major international multi-sport event. Oversee Games-time accreditation operations, ensuring a smooth, risk-managed, and accessible system supported by trained volunteer teams.
- Data, Systems & Technology Management: Drive the collection and management of key accreditation data via Smartsheet and associated systems. Ensure effective data flow between functional areas, venues, and delivery partners. Lead on system integrity, data accuracy, and governance across the accreditation lifecycle.
- Procurement & Equipment Delivery: Lead procurement of all accreditation-related assets and hardware for Games venues, including accreditation passes, printers, scanners, and associated equipment. Ensure all systems and equipment are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management: Lead the relationship with Populous, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, standards, and operational requirements. Work closely with functional area leads to define accreditation needs across all areas of Games delivery. Build strong, collaborative relationships with key partners, suppliers, and contractors.
- Training, Guidance & System Adoption: Lead training for the wider IG27 team and stakeholders on accreditation systems and processes. Develop clear user guidance, documentation, and operational manuals. Ensure consistent understanding and adoption of accreditation processes across all stakeholders.
- Games-Time Delivery & Operational Leadership: Lead accreditation operations during Games-time, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all client groups. Implement efficient workflows and contingency planning to manage operational risk. Ensure a calm, responsive approach to issue resolution in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking someone with:
- Proven experience delivering registration and accreditation systems at major international multi-sport events.
- Strong operational experience in large-scale event delivery (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Deep understanding of accreditation best practice and secure access systems.
- Advanced skills in Smartsheet and data-driven operational delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across complex environments.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and solution-focused under pressure.
- Experience working within smaller organising committees or fast-paced delivery teams is highly desirable.
