Are you passionate about inclusive education and making a real impact in young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our Nurture Focus Centre, a specialist resource provision within Pedmore, a small and inclusive secondary school located in Stourbridge. The role will include supporting pupils in the Nurture Focus Centre, as well as pupils in mainstream classes. The Nurture Focus Centre is an inclusion base that is part of Pedmore High School and supports Pedmore pupils who are struggling in mainstream lessons. Our aim for the Nurture Focus Centre is to support pupils return to mainstream lessons, equipped with the skills, strategies and resilience required to be successful.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities under the direction of teaching staff and Inclusion Manager.
- Provide targeted interventions, either one-to-one or in small groups, to address specific learning, social, emotional or behavioural goals.
- Assist with the development of personalised learning programmes and support strategies.
- Promote and model positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, external professionals, and parents/carers to support holistic pupil development.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to assessment and review meetings.
- Act as a key worker for identified pupils, offering mentoring and emotional support.
- Lead by example in demonstrating empathy, resilience and high expectations for all learners.
