The role as a Head of Business is a critical leadership position within the Group. You will be required to generate impressive results by increasing sales and revenue across the whole dealership. Key challenges will be to lead, coach and develop a team of colleagues to achieve the strategic objectives of the dealership and exceed the planned profitability of the site. Be responsible for the growth and development of all departments and be challenged to exceed financial targets and the highest guest satisfaction levels.
You are an ambitious and confident individual who achieves impressive results by increasing sales and revenue across the whole dealership with your own unique style! Key challenges will be to lead, coach and develop a team of associates to achieve the strategic objectives of the dealership and exceed the planned profitability of the site. You will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. You are confident on the computer, with a high level of ability to deliver on processes and compliance requirements, with exceptional organisational skills. You have a ‘Full Clean UK Driving Licence’.
What does a normal day look like? A normal day is always different from both yesterday and tomorrow! It is a role of variety, autonomy, and diversity.
Key responsibilities:
- Effective recruitment, leadership, management and development of all associates, paying particular regard to skill level and training requirements. Developing short and long-term goals for departmental managers.
- Maintain an enthusiastic attitude to promote morale and motivate associates to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.
- Promote the company’s values and four pillars actively in the business.
- Prepare annual budgets in conjunction with the Financial Controller to be approved by Group Senior Management team.
- Regularly communicate with department managers to review progress against budget, current business opportunities, advertising and promotional activity, guest complaint levels, CSI performance and policy issues.
- Review monthly management accounts, including balance sheets and expense items with the Financial Controller to understand, monitor, control and reduce costs by actively exploring cost saving initiatives.
- Continuously review with departmental managers the current debtor position, taking action to minimise business risk and certify control of working capital, including keeping within agreed stock levels and stock turn.
- Ensure adequate information is available on a daily basis in order to monitor department activity and report sales and other key indicators to Group Senior Management on a weekly basis.
- Maintain good working relationships with manufacturer’s representatives and provide required information as necessary, ensuring the professional and effective management of the franchise and manufacturer association. Ensure all manufactures targets (CSI & registration targets etc.) are actively negotiated, managed and communicated to the team.
- Ensure premises are maintained to a professional standard, safeguarding excellence in both dealership and associate presentation and exceeding both Company and Manufactures standards.
- Be a champion of Group policy, process and ensure they are explained, understood and implemented by all colleagues. To specifically ensure all Health and Safety, trading standard, environmental and employment legislation & policies are adhered to.
- Adopt ultimate responsibility for all associate issues, organising recruitment, induction, training, and disciplinary matters consistent with HR policy and procedures.
