Why Investors for Purpose? Investors for Purpose is a membership organisation that brings together institutional investors, their managers and advisers to align investment decisions with long-term positive impact and value. We help lead the conversation on integrating sustainability and impact into investments. Through learning, policy insight, structural change guidance and governance support, we help our members embed impact into how they think, operate and invest. Our independence allows us to create a trusted space where our members can collaborate openly and solve shared challenges. We believe the investment system must deliver sustainable outcomes – for members and the world we retire into. That’s why we work with institutional investors, policy makers and other partners who use their agency to shift capital, to drive change and deliver outcomes that benefit people and planet alongside profits. As a Certified B Corporation, we consider society and the environment in every decision we make. Our team is passionate, driven and motivated, thinking laterally about solutions. A largely online business with staff based at home and a meritocratic and transparent culture, we offer a flexible working environment to encourage applicants from all backgrounds. Our CEO presents the business plan and financials to employees in the same way they are presented to the Board. Bottom line – we want change, so we have to be the change.

Our main services include:

  • An online Knowledge Centre where thought leadership, case studies and podcasts are shared.
  • A Community through which we deliver online roundtables, training and networking, organised around six Ecosystem Themes.
  • In-person events, such as our Annual Symposium & Awards and Insight Days.
  • Impact Lens research on industry trends in ESG, sustainable and impact investment.
  • The promotion of the Impact Investing Principles for Pensions.
  • Policy advocacy, and bespoke projects with pension funds and their advisers.

Main responsibilities

The Ecosystem Coordinator will provide high-quality coordination and administrative support across the organisation’s Ecosystem and Community activity. This new role will focus on enabling senior colleagues to progress work efficiently by managing logistics, tracking agreed actions and maintaining momentum, rather than owning strategy or analysis.

General administration

  • Provide support to senior colleagues where required, focused on efficient administration and coordination. This may include:
  • Liaising with partners, stakeholders and team members to organise meetings and prepare materials (eg. agendas and presentations).
  • Helping coordinate internal meetings, team offsites and training sessions.

Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Ecosystem Themes
  • Provide coordination to the Ecosystem Lead and individual Ecosystem Theme Leads to deliver agreed priorities, including:
  • Monitoring KPIs and success measures set by the Ecosystem Lead and Theme Leads, including maintaining trackers, collating updates and flagging progress or risks.
  • Ensuring accurate records and documentation for each Theme, so that information is up to date and accessible.
  • With input from Theme Leads, preparing agendas and supporting papers for each Theme’s annual Expert Advisory Group (EAG) meeting and Community Interest Group (CIG) meetings (currently two per annum per Theme).
  • Attending EAG and CIG meetings where required, circulating action notes and following up on agreed actions to ensure momentum is maintained.
  • Provide administrative support for the Impact Investing Principles for Pensions (which sit within the Impact Integration Theme), including coordinating onboarding of new Adopters and Supporters.
  • Act as an extra resource for the Head of Impact Lens and Research Analyst, including:
  • Organising meetings and calls.
  • Preparing agendas and meeting notes.
  • Updating trackers and shared documents.
  • Community
    • Assist the Head of Community & Policy, including:
    • Coordinating membership business development enquiries.
    • Supporting the account management process.
    • Formatting documents.
  • Work with the Events Manager to deliver our annual event programme, including:
    • Updating the events calendar.
    • Setting up running orders and rehearsals; monitoring event registrations and confirming attendance; providing information to hosts, speakers and participants; liaising with venues; and collating post-event attendee feedback.
    • Attending online and in-person events as necessary to ensure they run smoothly.
    • Supporting the creation of event microsites on Zoho.
    • Monitoring the events inbox and responding to enquiries.

    Requirements

    • Calm, supportive and service-oriented, enabling senior colleagues to work efficiently without needing close supervision.
    • Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities, take ownership of actions and follow-up until tasks are complete.
    • Methodical and systematic, enjoying maintaining records, and keeping information tidy and accessible.
    • Strong communicator, confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Adaptable and flexible, happy to switch between different areas of role as priorities shift.
    • Solid experience of Office 365, customer relationship management systems (eg. Zoho), content management systems and conferencing (eg. Zoom).
    • Knowledge of the industry would be useful but curiosity, a keenness to learn and the ability to pick things up quickly are essential.
    • Happy to work as part of a remote-based team but able to travel (mostly London) for meetings and events, as necessary for the role.
    • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application.

    Benefits

    • This is a full-time role; however, we are open to candidates seeking reduced daily working hours.
    • Salary of up to £31k (pro rata), plus 8% pension contribution.
    • Remote-based but with some travel for meetings and events.
    • 25 days’ holiday (pro-rata), increasing by a day per year of service up to 28 days, excluding bank holidays.
    • Fantastic opportunity to raise your profile in an important and growing area of investment with significant partner organisations based around the world.
    • Part of a small, inclusive and meritocratic team where you can learn and grow your skills base.

To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter to careers@investorsforpurpose.com outlining what attracts you to the role and why you feel you are the right candidate.
