As a DevOps Engineer (Mid-Level 1), you will be instrumental in building and maturing our Salesforce CI/CD capabilities whilst contributing to broader infrastructure and automation projects. This role is ideal for Salesforce Developers who have been championing CI/CD and automation within their teams or DevOps engineers looking to specialize in the Salesforce ecosystem. You’ll join a team that values automation, reliability, and developer experience. Reporting to the VP of DevOps, you will work with moderate independence on team‑level projects and collaborate with senior engineers on department‑wide initiatives.
You Will
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce deployments using GitHub Actions, integrating with Salesforce DX (SFDX) and related tooling.
- Implement source control workflows and branching strategies for Salesforce development teams.
- Develop packaging and release management processes (unlocked packages, 2GP where appropriate).
- Automate deployment and validation processes across multiple Salesforce orgs (scratch orgs, sandboxes, production).
- Work closely with Salesforce developers to reduce deployment friction and improve release velocity.
- Evaluate and implement Salesforce DevOps tooling (native or third‑party) to support team needs.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps for non‑Salesforce applications.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for standard deployments, following team standards and DRY principles.
- Support cloud infrastructure management (Azure preferred) and assist with serverless computing implementations.
- Deploy and maintain containerised applications using Docker & Kubernetes for standard use cases.
- Configure and maintain security scanning and compliance checks within existing DevOps workflows.
- Document technical processes and contribute to team knowledge base.
- Contribute to DevOps culture by implementing best practices within your team.
You Have
- 2–4 years of experience in one or more of: DevOps, Salesforce development, infrastructure, or software development.
- Working proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or equivalent).
- Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Good scripting skills in at least one of: PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Apex.
- Problem‑solving mindset with ability to troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues.
- Strong collaboration and documentation skills.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing processes.
- Ability to work independently on routine tasks while knowing when to elevate.
For candidates from a Salesforce background, you’ll also have:
- Hands‑on Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, Flows, or declarative configuration).
- Experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX) CLI or interest in learning it.
- Understanding of Salesforce metadata, org architecture, and deployment challenges.
- Exposure to source control for Salesforce projects (even if limited).
- Frustration with manual deployments and a drive to automate them.
For candidates from a DevOps background, you’ll also have:
- Solid hands‑on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also considered).
- Experience with Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts.
- Understanding of common deployment strategies (Blue/Green, Rolling updates).
- Interest in learning Salesforce platform specifics and SFDX tooling.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools (Gearset, Copado, Flosum, or Salesforce DevOps Center).
- Familiarity with unlocked packages or second‑generation packaging (2GP).
- Experience managing deployments across multiple Salesforce orgs.
