Your opportunity: This is a 12-month graduate programme with a start date from September 2026 focusing on gaining first-hand experience in the team and discovering what your future would be like with us through induction, on the job learning, skills training and networking. The investment risk team ensure ongoing fund risk profiles align with the intended approach and support the portfolio managers in continuously improving the risk/return profile delivered to investors.

  • Support Risk Managers in covering all aspects of investment risk, performance and other relevant metrics to ensure portfolios are managed in the client’s best interest.
  • Generate investment risk and performance attribution reports.
  • Develop Python and SQL based analytical tools.
  • Summarize key investment risk results/findings.
  • Assist with processes to ensure that accurate risk analytics are available on a timely basis.
  • Foster and maintain relationships between the Investment Risk team and other teams within Janus Henderson.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Must-have skills:

  • You must have graduated from an Undergraduate or Masters degree in 2025 or be graduating in 2026 and be available to start full time work from September 2026.
  • Robust Python skills are a must and required, including familiarity with libraries like Pandas, Numpy, SQLAlchemy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Dask and SciPy.
  • Robust SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of investment risk analysis.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and asset classes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • High degree of numeracy with a quantitative mindset.
  • Naturally curious and willing to ask questions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Desire to work and succeed within a collaborative team.
