We are looking for an experienced Painter and Decorator to carry out internal and external painting and decorating, preparation works to walls and minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting. You’ll be erecting access equipment as required, with appropriate training and all necessary access plant and temporary screening as and when required to protect the environment and people. You’ll monitor decorating material stock and request new stock as required, ensure all works are carried out within the approved budget and all painting and decorating equipment is best utilised and kept clean and reused.
Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking. Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively. Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation. Report site hazards and relevant information to management. Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required.
Carrying out the full range of domestic plumbing to current regulations on cold water, hot water, waste pipework. Installation of bathroom sanitary ware, radiators including pipework and control valves, cold water tanks, kitchen and bathroom appliances, waste disposal units. Searching and diagnosing faults, repairing leaks. Weatherproofing roofs, pipes and gutters with lead, metal and plastics. Ensure all work is carried out following safe working practices, risk assessments and safe systems of work and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. Provide instruction, guidance and support to apprentices.
Carry out day‑to‑day responsive repairs across six schools. Complete multi‑trade works including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and decorating. Repair or replace skirting boards, architraves, internal door frames, doors, locks, hinges. Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors. Identify and resolve minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps and blocked sinks. Carry out patch plastering and make good to damaged walls and ceilings.
You will need to have proven experience installing, servicing, fault finding, and maintaining electrical systems within the social housing sector. Strong knowledge of installing, repairing, inspecting, and testing electrical installations and carrying out repairs within void properties. Role includes carrying out repairs to electrical accessories such as sockets, extractor fans, and light switches. Knowledge and experience of first fix and second fix electrical installations.
To carry out the duties of an Electrician/Approved Electrician and to contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective maintenance service. Undertake Electrical duties as directed by the Electrical co‑ordinator/Supervisor. Provide Out of Hours cover when required. Undertake training as required. Comply with all Health and Safety and security procedures and guidelines. Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably expected from time to time.
