An opportunity has arisen for a highly progressive individual to join a leading business with a great culture as FP&A Lead in Central Herts. This newly created role is designed with succession planning in mind, and is the perfect opportunity for a driven recently qualified finance professional looking to carve out a career within a leading brand business offering genuine progression.
Whilst reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, your key deliverables and duties include:
- Playing the lead in the budgeting and forecasting cycles across the group including the coordination of budgets, forecasts and planning in line with the ongoing growth of the business.
- Leading the end-to-end annual budgeting process across the business functions.
- Delivery of forecasts vs the budget along with commentary.
- Setting and communicating the budget and forecast annual timetables, ensuring they are in line with business objectives.
- Coordinating multiple budget holders, ensuring consistency, accuracy and adherence to the timetable.
- Assigning tasks to internal stakeholders (both Finance, Sales and Operational) to ensure completion of the budget/forecast.
- Ensuring that robust models underpin revenue and cost budgets/forecasts.
- Continually seeking to drive granularity and accuracy in those models to ensure that performance measurement can be understood.
- Challenging assumptions constructively and supporting evidence-based decision making.
- Coordinating, editing and presenting high-class presentations to update stakeholders on budget progress and to gain approval of budgets/forecasts through the process.
- Outlining short- and long-term risks and opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining robust internal budget and forecast controls, ensuring internal audit compliance and management of version control.
- Ownership of internal financial modelling tools, including access controls.
- Continuously looking to improve budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate profile:
- CIMA or ACCA Qualification (Other relevant finance/accounting qualification).
- Thrives in collaborative environments, connects well with others and has the ability to build rapport.
- Experience in operational support to understand financial budgeting.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional relationship building skills with the ability to develop lasting partnerships across the business.
