A highly skilled and commercially minded qualified technical Financial Accountant with expertise in financial reporting, statutory accounting, and financial controls, combined with a strong focus on finance technology, systems optimisation, and process innovation. Experienced in driving finance transformation initiatives, enhancing reporting capabilities, improving data quality, and leveraging technology to automate and streamline financial processes across complex organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP, or local GAAP).
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and emerging accounting standards.
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
- Act as a key liaison between Finance and Technology teams to identify opportunities for systems enhancements and automation.
- Lead and support finance systems projects, including ERP implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process redesign initiatives.
- Drive improvements in financial reporting tools, dashboards, and management information systems.
- Promote the adoption of digital solutions to enhance financial data accuracy, accessibility, and governance.
- Support the development and optimisation of finance technologies such as ERP systems, reporting platforms, workflow tools, and data analytics solutions.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and strengthen controls.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function and wider group.
- Develop automated workflows and reporting processes to improve the speed and quality of financial information.
- Standardise finance processes across business units to create consistency and scalability.
- Utilise data analytics and business intelligence tools to deliver actionable insights and improve decision-making.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Proven track record of finance process improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
