Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner – No Month End
Based in Hertfordshire – Hybrid – Circa 3 days
Salary £90-100K + bonus
Investigo are delighted to be supporting a multi-billion revenue business with the recruitment of a Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner.
With unrivalled exposure to the Commercial Leadership Team, Category Directors and other Operational Partners, this is the perfect platform for those seeking a true strategic role with high impact.
The role sits in a brand-new area of finance, which has been created to offer dedicated support to the commercial and product teams. The division is responsible for providing commercial insight and in-depth analysis on future product launches and the innovation of existing ones.
You will support the modelling of new propositions from research to launch, ensuring they are financially robust. This is a highly commercial role with no month end responsibilities, which sits at the forefront of decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the main finance partner for all commercial activities for a key category, helping to drive their strategic growth plan forward.
- Lead the end-to-end P&L management from gross sales revenue to net margin, ensuring performance drivers versus target is fully understood and clearly articulated, alongside the identification of any risks or opportunities to the category’s commercial targets.
- Lead category forecasting across the P&L, ensuring it’s reflective of current performance trends, planned future activity and supports the growth ambitions of the business.
- Provide regular commercial outturns and developing the forecasts as part of the annual planning process and quarterly reforecasting cycles.
- Provide finance support for critical activities including KPI development such as Sales Vs consumer and ensuring the business can effectively monitor the performance of new initiatives and identify any commercial risks / opportunities.
- Lead the development, analysis and oversight for the commercial cases for new activity. This includes developing commercial models to forecast the impact of the activity
- Working with key stakeholders and analytical teams to develop robust assumptions, developing stakeholder presentations and business cases outlining the planned impact of the activity.
- Hold performance reviews and benefit tracking of commercial activity, collaborating with wider analytical teams across the business as required, challenging where necessary to ensure there is a clear commercial narrative and understanding of performance.
Skills Required
- Must be qualified (ACA/ACCA or CIMA) with post qualified experience.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and the ability to demonstrate high levels of commercial autonomy.
- Strong analytical skills – ability to handle large volumes of data
- Advanced modelling skills
- Ability to build strong relationships and negotiate with senior stakeholders
