This role is a long-term contract. Part-time 3 days a week (Outside IR35) within an industry leading Utilities/ Energy business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of the key component of the Group External Financial Statements including disclosures in the Group Annual Report and Accounts.
  • Oversee the External Reporting, Asset and Ledgers, UK Finance Shared Service Centre, and Knowledge Management teams.
  • Manage the UK statutory accounts and regulatory accounts process including external audit sign off.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of the UK audit process to Group timetable liaising with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit cycle.
  • Providing technical accounting to various areas across the UK business to assist with decision making.
  • Develop, maintain and further evolve a strong internal control environment in relation to the business.
  • Management of balance sheet risks and opportunities, ensuring the robust balance sheet review process is maintained with a strong focus on working capital and cashflow management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Preparation of Board quality outputs for significant accounting judgements and key year deliverables in relation to the UK business.
  • Prepare period end close documentation and period end reporting packs including variance analysis for review by the Financial Controller.
