Our client is a boutique procurement consultancy specialising in IT cost optimisation and cost-out programmes. They partner with organisations across multiple sectors to deliver tangible, sustainable savings across complex IT spend categories. Known for their pragmatic approach and strong client relationships, the consultancy is growing and now looking to expand its IT procurement capability.
The Role
As an IT Procurement Consultant, you will work closely with clients to identify, design and deliver cost optimisation initiatives across IT spend. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you'll take ownership of procurement workstreams, engage senior stakeholders, and drive measurable commercial outcomes. Operating in a fully remote environment, you'll collaborate with a highly experienced consulting team while managing your own projects and client engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support IT procurement and cost-out initiatives across categories such as software, hardware, telecoms, cloud and managed services
- Analyse spend data to identify savings opportunities and develop robust cost-reduction strategies
- Run end-to-end sourcing activities including market engagement, RFPs, negotiations and contract optimisation
- Challenge incumbent suppliers and commercial models to deliver improved value and reduced total cost of ownership
- Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, providing clear commercial insight and recommendations
- Support the development of best-practice procurement tools, templates and methodologies
About You
- Proven experience in IT procurement, either within consultancy or an in-house environment (the organisation must be complex/global/matrix).
- Strong track record of delivering cost savings and value improvement initiatives
- Solid understanding of key IT spend categories (e.g. software licensing, SaaS, cloud, telecoms, infrastructure)
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working autonomously in a remote consulting environment
- MCIPS or working towards (desirable but not essential)
