I am working with an established business, who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced part-qualified Payroll Accountant to join a dynamic finance team during an exciting period of change.
Salary: Up to £50,000 dependent on experience
Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 from home
Location: London
The role: You will work closely with senior stakeholders throughout the business and play a vital part in supporting the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a sound understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements. Expertise in payroll accounting will be essential.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting the Finance Manager in managing month-end payroll accounting close processes.
- Reviewing and reconciling payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are properly documented and supported.
- Highlighting areas of risk and opportunities when they arise.
- Collaborating with the Payroll team to gather the necessary data to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
- Supporting internal and external audits to ensure reporting compliance.
- Driving process improvement initiatives to maintain and implement best practices.
- Preparing other management information required by the business.
- Carrying out additional tasks as necessary.
- Progress towards a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Familiarity with processing internal recharges.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative effectively.
