Our client is a highly respected international brand with a reputation for quality, innovation and employee engagement. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Tax & Financial Accountant to join their finance team based at their Milton Keynes headquarters.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of UK and Ireland tax compliance whilst gaining broader exposure to financial accounting, audit, statutory reporting and business projects.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation and submission of tax returns, maintaining compliance across multiple tax streams and supporting wider financial accounting activities.

The role offers excellent variety and visibility across the business, providing regular interaction with senior finance leadership and opportunities to contribute to business improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage UK and Ireland tax compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Prepare and submit Corporation Tax and VAT returns.
  • Oversee P11D, PSA and employment tax reporting requirements.
  • Manage Plastic Packaging Tax, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Withholding Tax obligations.
  • Maintain tax records and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare tax disclosures and deferred tax calculations for statutory accounts.
  • Reconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items.
  • Support year-end audit processes and tax-related queries.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards.
  • Identify tax risks, efficiencies and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Financial Controller with wider financial accounting responsibilities and ad hoc projects.

About You

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification (or be actively studying) or Qualified by experience
  • Experience of VAT and Corporation Tax compliance.
  • Knowledge of FRS102 and/or IFRS reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

cΒ£45,000 basic salary plus an excellent benefits package including an annual bonus of up to 9%, 6.5% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, private medical insurance, access to up to three vehicles at heavily discounted rates, and hybrid working (3 days per week in the Milton Keynes office)
