My client, a well-known business in the Woking area, is currently looking to recruit for a permanent commercially focused Management Accountant.
Hours: 40 hours a week - Monday - Friday (Hybrid working) - Flexible start & finish time (8:00-16:00 - 30 minute lunch etc)
Job duties:
- Take charge of the month-end accounting process for the Landscape Construction and Gritting divisions.
- Analyse sales and costs alongside relevant management teams to verify accurate coding, accruals, and explanations for any variances.
- Explain financial data to non-financial managers effectively.
- Handle the preparation and processing of period-end journals.
- Continuously assess accounting practices and processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Regularly complete reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
- Participate in the regular forecasting and annual budget process, ensuring adherence to the agreed timetable and providing clear instructions on budget assumptions and methodology.
- Support Finance Business Partners in producing variance analysis for management reporting packs related to forecast and budget variances.
- Coordinate variance analysis and commentary for monthly management accounts with the Operational senior management team and Finance Business Partners.
Ideal candidate will be:
- Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Proficient in producing management accounts, variance analysis, and commentary.
- Intrinsic interest in understanding business numbers and their implications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
- Desirable experience with SAP, Sage 50, Xero, and Adaptive Insights.
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Willingness to challenge existing practices.
- Ability to travel to other sites within the UK when needed.
