About the role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Trainer & Work‐Based Learning Coach to join our Training Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to shape the next generation of public finance professionals by delivering high‐quality training and supporting apprentices throughout their learning journey. You'll play a dual role: delivering engaging training across professional accountancy programmes, while also providing personalised coaching to apprentices to help them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed.

What you'll be doing

  • Deliver outstanding training
  • Design and deliver engaging, high‐quality training sessions (both face‐to‐face and online)
  • Prepare course materials and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve content
  • Support learners beyond the classroom through forums, coaching sessions and feedback
  • Mark assessments and provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress
  • Coach and support apprentices
  • Deliver one‐to‐one coaching to apprentices throughout their programme
  • Monitor progress across learning, off‐the‐job training and workplace experience
  • Conduct regular review meetings, agreeing SMART actions and ensuring compliance
  • Support apprentices towards successful completion of their End Point Assessment
  • Enhance the learner experience
  • Respond to learner queries and provide academic support
  • Maintain accurate learner records and engagement data
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of programmes and materials
  • Support wider training delivery, including CPD sessions where required

What we're looking for

  • Essential qualifications & experience
  • Degree‐level education
  • A professional accountancy qualification
  • Experience in accountancy, audit, or financial management (ideally in public services)
  • Proven experience delivering training in both classroom and online environments
  • Skills & knowledge

  • Confident using digital tools, including MS Office, virtual learning environments and video platforms
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners with varying needs
