London | Hybrid, 4 days from office in Central London

A high-growth, PE-backed multi-site business is looking to appoint a Head of Finance Operations to lead and transform its transactional finance function.

This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Credit Control.

You will lead a sizeable team, drive operational excellence, improve working capital performance, and help build a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop teams across AP, AR, Billing and Credit Control.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, service levels and performance standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash processes.
  • Improve cash collection, aged debt performance and working capital management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely customer billing across multiple revenue streams.
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance processes.
  • Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Lead automation, systems enhancements and broader finance transformation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous process improvement across the finance operations function.
  • Produce meaningful management information and operational reporting for senior leadership.

About You

  • Proven experience leading a transactional finance or finance operations function.
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Procure-to-pay and Credit Control.
  • Experience managing and developing large teams.
  • Track record of delivering process improvements and finance transformation projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Experience working within a multi-site, PE-backed or rapidly growing business is highly desirable.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification preferred but not essential.
