We are supporting an international, subscription-led technology business in the appointment of a Group Finance Director. This is a senior Number 1 in Finance role, reporting directly to the CEO, with full ownership of finance across the group.

The business operates across multiple jurisdictions and has reached a point where it requires a hands-on, commercially grounded finance leader to bring rigour, clarity and consistency to financial operations and reporting. This role will suit someone comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels, setting expectations, owning outcomes and acting as the ultimate authority on the numbers.

The role

As Group Finance Director, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the finance function, covering accounting, reporting, controls, tax, treasury and compliance, while acting as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and leadership team.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Financial leadership and planning
  • Ownership of group budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
  • Delivery of accurate, decision-useful management reporting with clear analysis
  • Development and maintenance of financial models to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Clear communication of financial performance, risks and opportunities to non-finance stakeholders
  • Financial operations and control
  • Full accountability for statutory reporting, tax and payroll across the group
  • Ensuring timely close processes and robust audit outcomes in the UK and overseas
  • Designing, embedding and enforcing effective financial controls, policies and procedures
  • Ownership of cash flow, working capital, debt facilities and lender reporting
  • Oversight of multi-currency operations and foreign exchange exposure
  • Managing relationships with external advisors including auditors, tax advisors and banks
  • Group and change focus
  • Leading the finance workstream on a recent acquisition and broader structural change
  • Aligning systems, processes and reporting to enable efficient group consolidation
  • Tracking and delivering operational efficiencies and cost improvements
  • Ensuring the finance function is scalable and appropriate for the next phase of growth

Background and experience required

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as the senior finance lead with full functional ownership
  • Strong technical grounding in financial control, reporting and governance
  • Experience operating in international group structures
  • Exposure to acquisition integration or significant structural change
  • Experience in subscription or recurring-revenue business models
  • Comfortable in investor-influenced or ownership-led environments
