The IT Category Manager is responsible for leading procurement strategy and vendor management across the technology, telecommunications, software, and hardware categories. This role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing aligned with business needs and IT objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies for IT spend areas, including telecoms, enterprise software, hardware, and related services.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations to drive value and ensure service quality.
  • Collaborate with IT, finance, and business stakeholders to align procurement with technical and operational requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise total cost of ownership across IT categories.

Qualifications:

  • MCIPS/CIPS would be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in IT procurement or category management, preferably across multiple IT domains.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement tools, IT vendor landscape, and contract law.

Location: Buckinghamshire - 4 days on site
