A well-known Further Education establishment is seeking to recruit an IT Asset Manager for a newly created and integral role as part of their wider technology team on a permanent basis. The role will initially be mostly full time on site for 6 months with flexibility on some days working from home, but will then move to being a hybrid role with 2 days working from home weekly, paying £39,812 per annum plus good benefits.
Reporting to the Head of IT Service Delivery, the college is seeking an IT Asset Manager who will be responsible for the management, direction and delivery of IT software, as well as hardware and data asset management, managing responses to IT risk management, internal audit and improvement plans related to these areas. The IT Asset Manager will work closely with the DevOps and Service Delivery teams to drive the maturity of the College's IT services for asset, risk and audit management. The post holder will also work closely with the Data Protection Officer to ensure best practice is in place to protect College data assets, including storage, retention and deletion policy compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the provision and delivery of high quality and cost-effective services aligned to teaching and learning objectives.
- Promote and support innovative ways of achieving the college's service aims and objectives through the development, delivery and review of IT and business plans and strategies.
- Build an IT Asset Management process to progress organisational objectives, with a long-term vision for IT Governance.
- Provide guidance and professional advice to colleagues, ensuring clear communication.
- Undertake continued professional development and ensure understanding and communication of best working practices.
- Ensure risk and audit processes are planned and managed to a high standard and communication is timely and clear.
- Work with Finance and the Head of IT Service Delivery to ensure IT costs for software assets are controlled effectively to deliver best value to the college and capital requests are planned.
- Act as a member of the IT service delivery management team.
- Challenge the accepted way of working within the college and encourage colleagues to think differently and innovatively.
- Maintain the mass volume licensing for Intune/JAMF.
- Create a plan to manage software and hardware assets to ensure best value to the college.
- Develop SCCM reports and share these with the Service Delivery Management team.
- Ensure procurement processes are followed when procuring IT assets.
- Provide out of hours support and leadership as required (Time off in Lieu applies).
- Contribute to the IT Service Delivery daily comms cells and monthly team meetings.
This role is an interesting and challenging position where you will have responsibility for over 250 IT licenses and 4000 hardware pieces. You will be an excellent communicator, happy to engage with external suppliers and 3rd parties on a very regular basis, attend events when required and recommend new products to senior stakeholders at the college. We are seeking someone who has prior IT Asset Management experience and who is reliable and responsible to come in to own the service, working with other colleagues whilst being supported by your manager.
Holidays - 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year up to 30 days, plus closure time over the Christmas period plus other good benefits. Please apply today if interested.
