An established, UK headquartered professional services business with a growing international footprint is seeking an experienced Interim Tax Specialist to support its tax compliance, review and planning activity across multiple jurisdictions. This is a hands-on interim role with genuine scope to influence structure, governance and future state tax planning. There is potential for the role to transition into a permanent position for the right individual.
The role
The Interim Tax Specialist will be responsible for reviewing existing tax positions, coordinating with external advisors, and helping shape a robust and scalable international tax framework as the business continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and assessing current tax positions across the UK and overseas entities
- Acting as the main point of contact for external tax advisors and local finance partners
- Leading or supporting the development and implementation of the 2025 transfer pricing framework
- Providing practical input into international tax planning and optimisation initiatives
- Delivering clear, concise tax analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Candidate profile
- Circa 5+ years’ experience in tax, gained in practice, in-house, or a combination of both
- Background from a Big 4 or leading accounting or consulting firm preferred
- Strong grounding in UK tax with demonstrable international exposure
- Experience covering European jurisdictions is important, with additional exposure to the US and other regions advantageous
- Comfortable operating in a multi-entity, cross-border environment
- Clear communicator, able to manage external advisors and internal stakeholders effectively
