We are supporting a large, international technology business with the appointment of an Interim FP&A Manager on an initial 6-month contract. The organisation has recently undergone a major structural change following a complex corporate transaction and is now entering a critical period of financial planning and integration.
The role reports directly into the FP&A Director and will play a key role in rebuilding forward-looking financial capability during this transition.
The business has recently separated a number of operating units from a much larger group structure. Certain core finance activities are temporarily supported under transitional arrangements, however FP&A is out of scope. As a result, forecasting, budgeting and cost visibility need to be established quickly for a materially changed organisation.
The group operates at significant scale, with a large international workforce and multiple cost centres across regions.
This is a hands-on interim FP&A assignment with a strong emphasis on integration, cost visibility and planning. Responsibilities are expected to include:
- Building and delivering budgets and forecasts for newly structured business units.
- Supporting post-transaction integration activity from an FP&A perspective.
- Detailed cost analysis, including identification and tracking of efficiencies.
- Headcount and workforce cost modelling across multiple geographies.
- Structuring, templating and mapping cost data for use within FP&A systems.
- Supporting the onboarding and use of FP&A tooling (prior experience not essential).
- Managing interim trackers for fixed costs and longer-term commitments.
- Partnering closely with the FP&A Director and senior regional stakeholders.
- Operating effectively in an environment where data and processes are still evolving.
The FP&A function is in the process of being reshaped. The Director leads a distributed team with business partnering capability across several regions, alongside junior FP&A resource offshore covering operating expenditure and sales-related analysis. This interim hire will provide senior, UK-based FP&A capacity during this build-out phase.
The ideal profile for this role will suit a high-calibre interim with strong technical FP&A capability and experience in complex or changing environments:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong FP&A background within technology, software, services or PE-backed businesses.
- Prior exposure to integrations, restructures or business separation environments preferred.
- Good understanding of cost structures, workforce modelling and financial planning.
- Advanced Excel skills essential.
- Experience with enterprise finance systems desirable.
- Comfortable working hands-on and at pace.
- Able to attend a London office three days per week (Mon–Thu).
Initial 6-month contract. Day rate £425–£475, depending on experience and IR35 status.
