Overview:
An industry leading client is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Analyst to provide strategic oversight of their IT and change portfolio. This role will focus on portfolio-level governance, reporting, and assurance, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with organisational priorities and delivering value across the business. The successful candidate will design and embed portfolio processes from the ground up, maintain visibility across projects and programmes, and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders to support timely decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive view of the IT and change portfolio, including status, risks, issues, dependencies, and financials.
- Design and embed portfolio-level reporting, governance, and escalation processes to support senior decision-making.
- Challenge project and programme leads on delivery plans, forecasts, and milestones to improve portfolio confidence.
- Monitor resourcing, identify cross-project dependencies, risks, and issues, and escalate with actionable recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement of portfolio governance, processes, and stakeholder engagement.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a Portfolio Analyst, Portfolio Manager, or PMO lead role.
- Strong track record of establishing portfolio governance and reporting processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset, capable of turning data into actionable insights.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Recognised portfolio, programme, or project management qualification (e.g., MoP, Prince2, APM) is beneficial but not essential.
