We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Interim Head of Financial Reporting to lead the organisation’s external and statutory reporting function. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely financial reporting under IFRS, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting the business through a significant ERP transformation programme.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness, leadership capability, and the ability to drive process improvement across the finance function.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Own the preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate governance requirements, and internal policies.
- Lead the year-end audit process and act as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers for complex accounting matters.
- Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to support strategic initiatives and commercial decision-making.
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring reporting requirements, controls, and processes are effectively embedded.
- Drive finance process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiencies across the function.
- Support system testing, UAT, and finance transformation activities linked to the ERP programme.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the financial reporting team.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Significant experience in financial reporting and technical accounting within a complex organisation.
- Proven experience managing external audits and working with auditors.
- Experience supporting or leading ERP implementations and finance transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and risk management.
