Role Overview:
As Manager of Key Sales/ Sector Manager within the Strategic Accounts team, you’ll lead a high-performing team of Senior Account Managers and Account Managers responsible for delivering energy solutions to our clients' largest C&I customers. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll drive growth, retention, and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of major UK businesses, while also managing your own portfolio of high-value accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Senior Account Managers and Account Managers to meet or exceed sales, margin, and retention targets.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and strong customer focus.
- Coach and support the professional development of your team, enhancing technical, commercial, and relationship management capability.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning within the Large Business team.
- Deliver electricity sales and contract renewals for large, multi-site C&I customers across flexible and fixed-price supply agreements.
- Manage end-to-end sales processes, from pipeline development and tender responses through to contract negotiation and closure.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key strategic customers, industry stakeholders, and third-party intermediaries.
- Identify and deliver value-added solutions including renewable supply, demand-side response, on-site generation, and net zero solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Pricing, Risk, Legal, and Operations teams to develop competitive, compliant commercial offers.
- Provide market insight and customer feedback to inform sales strategy, product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills Required:
- Proven experience leading a sales or account management team within the UK energy industry, ideally electricity supply to large business customers.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, contract structures (fixed, flexible, and pass-through), and risk management.
- Demonstrable success negotiating complex commercial agreements and delivering against ambitious targets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong coaching and interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and a high-performance culture.
- Strategic, data-driven, and customer-centric mindset, comfortable in a dynamic, performance-focused environment.
Salary:
