My client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the EMEA accounting operations. You’ll own end‑to‑end reporting and controls, manage a talented team, and drive process and systems transformation—making a real impact in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high‑performing regional finance team of 20–25, including 7 senior direct reports across EMEA.
- Inspire, develop, and empower teams spanning consolidations, external reporting, financial accounting, and transformation initiatives.
- Drive the delivery of accurate, timely consolidated financials under U.S. GAAP, UK GAAP, and IFRS, supporting both internal and external reporting.
- Champion a strong control culture, ensuring full SOX compliance and adherence to global finance policies.
- Own the external audit cycle – streamlining processes and ensuring statutory filings are delivered efficiently across multiple entities.
- Act as a trusted technical accounting advisor on complex areas including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and impairment.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing next‑generation finance systems and process automation.
Person Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA) with 10+ years of post‑qualification experience in complex, fast‑paced environments.
- Deep technical expertise across US GAAP and IFRS, with a strong grounding in financial reporting and consolidation.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling high‑performing finance teams.
- Experience within a multinational – ideally a US‑headquartered, tech‑driven organisation.
- Strong background in statutory reporting, audit management, and financial control design (SOX).
- Comfortable driving systems and process transformation – hands‑on with ERP or finance tech implementations.
- Exceptional communicator, able to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across finance and non‑finance functions.
