Investigo is recruiting a commercially minded accountant to join the finance team in a broad role combining core financial reporting with hands-on business partnering. The role is split roughly 50/50 between month-end close (up to 2 weeks per month) and commercial finance support, providing insight to drive performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver a timely and accurate month-end close (typically up to 10 working days)
- Prepare and review management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Perform accruals, prepayments, and journals
- Full balance sheet reconciliations and ownership of key controls
- Variance analysis vs budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Support audit processes and ensure robust financial governance
Business Partnering & Commercial Insight
- Partner with operational and non-finance stakeholders to drive performance and profitability
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Analyse revenue, margins, cost drivers, and operational KPIs
- Challenge assumptions and provide commercial recommendations
- Build financial models to support decision-making, pricing, and investment cases
- Support continuous improvement of reporting, systems, and processes
Key Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong grounding in month-end and management accounts
- Proven experience in business partnering / commercial finance
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly
- Confident communicator, able to influence non-finance stakeholders
£60,000 to £65,000 basic plus full benefits package
