Are you a VAT specialist looking for a role where you can truly influence a business? We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Indirect Tax Manager to take ownership of all VAT matters across a large, fast-paced organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative finance function where your expertise will shape compliance, support strategic decision-making, and drive process improvements across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading all VAT activity and acting as the subject matter expert for indirect tax
- Preparing and reviewing quarterly VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Managing reverse charge calculations, annual adjustments, and Capital Goods Scheme calculations
- Providing technical VAT guidance on new products, services, and business initiatives
- Reviewing material contracts to ensure VAT compliance and minimise risk
- Supporting the business with variable recovery rates, partnering closely with Finance Business Partners and Financial Systems teams
- Reconciling VAT balance sheets monthly and identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Managing and responding to HMRC VAT enquiries
- Monitoring changes in VAT legislation and case law, ensuring the business remains compliant
- Supporting the wider Tax function across additional tax-related activities when required

- Strong UK VAT and indirect tax experience
- Excellent technical knowledge with the ability to translate complex issues into practical advice

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent is desirable
