Newly created role as Finance Analyst/Group Finance support within a growing and established mid-sized business, providing an excellent culture and a very good degree of Hybrid working. This is the perfect opportunity for an AAT qualified Accountant looking for broad experience within a great business. Equally well suited for a hands-on more senior candidate looking for an opportunity with a large degree of Hybrid working.

The Finance Analyst will input into all critical business processes, working alongside colleagues in the Group finance team in the completion of their work, and providing support and guidance to the wider Finance community in adherence to Group policies and processes. The Finance Analyst will have particular responsibility for provision of day-to-day accounting for some of our cost centres and holding companies, and in the control of key consolidation activities for the Group, including coordination of deliverables, and preparation of management information packs. This role is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern Group finance function, and to gain experience in a broad range of finance and commercial activities. It is ideally suited to a finance professional who has past experience of accounting packages (such as Microsoft Business Central), is accustomed to analysis of large datasets, and has the motivation to make a difference in a dynamic business environment.

Key Accountabilities
  • Accounting support day-to-day accounting for holding companies, including preparation of journal postings as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the approval of invoices and payments.
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns.
  • Financial reporting & budgeting.
  • Coordination of deliverables from divisional finance teams.
  • Review results and commentary as provided by the individual divisions and challenge as necessary.
  • Assist with the preparation of the consolidated management accounts and detailed supporting schedules submitted to the CFO and other members of the senior leadership team, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data.
  • Assist in the coordination of the annual budget and reforecasting cycles, ensuring consistent high quality standards are maintained across all divisions.
Finance information systems
  • Work alongside the finance manager in maintenance of financial reporting systems, including chart of accounts, databases and exchange rates.
  • Participate in projects to roll out new reporting functionality across the Group, including development of bespoke reports as necessary.
Business Partnering - Group companies
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the Group of Companies through engagement with finance counterparts and other operational colleagues in these Companies.
  • Provide support and guidance in the use of finance information systems and in the adoption of accounting policies and procedures.
Other regular activities
  • Proactively monitor performance against finance KPIs and report against these requirements.
  • Ad-hoc activities and contribution towards continuous improvement initiatives and other projects.
