Due to continued expansion and success, they are now seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their senior finance team and drive the next phase of their financial reporting and control framework.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an audit-trained finance professional to take on a pivotal role within a growing regulated business. The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for leading the financial reporting function, overseeing group consolidations, and building out a high-performing finance team. You will work closely with the Finance Director and other senior stakeholders to ensure robust financial controls and accurate reporting across all group entities. The role offers significant scope for career development, with the successful candidate having the opportunity to shape the finance function and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly and year-end consolidation process across all group entities
  • Prepare and finalise comprehensive board packs and management information for senior leadership
  • Oversee statutory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Manage and develop a team of 3 direct reports, with plans to expand the team further
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures across the group
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end reporting

Essential Requirements

  • ACA qualified (or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Significant experience in a similar group consolidation role within a regulated environment
  • Proven track record in team leadership and people management
  • Experience with statutory reporting and regulatory compliance
  • Strong systems skills (advanced Excel essential, consolidation software advantageous)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Big 4 or top tier audit firm background preferred
  • Experience building and developing finance teams
  • Organised and detail-oriented with ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and drive efficiency
