Senior Management Accountant Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a growing international business operating across multiple territories.

This role combines core financial control responsibilities with commercial finance partnering, forecasting, performance analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Working closely with operational and leadership teams, you will provide meaningful financial insight to support strategic decision-making, drive profitability, and enhance financial performance across several international entities.

The role also includes management responsibility for a finance team member and offers the opportunity to be involved in systems improvements, business transformation projects, and wider finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Commercial Analysis
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Deliver detailed revenue, profitability, and gross margin analysis.
  • Provide commercial support to operational and leadership teams.
  • Review contracts and commercial opportunities, providing financial input to support decision making.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies, bid submissions, and profitability assessments.
  • Prepare regular cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital performance.
  • Management Accounting & Financial Control
  • Lead the month-end close process across multiple international entities.
  • Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, and other key journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition in collaboration with operational stakeholders.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including depreciation, amortisation, and lease accounting.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues promptly.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and support group reporting requirements.
  • Investigate and explain financial variances against budgets and forecasts.
  • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Process Improvement & Business Transformation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational functions.
  • Monitor and report on operational and financial KPIs.
  • Assist with the implementation and optimisation of financial and operational systems.
  • Contribute to business simplification and efficiency projects.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance controls, reporting accuracy, and process effectiveness.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Line manage and support a finance team member responsible for accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Ensure timely processing and posting of financial transactions.
  • Act as a key finance contact for stakeholders across the business.
  • Build strong relationships with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with tax and external advisors to support compliance obligations.
  • Compliance & Governance
  • Support statutory audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain robust accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
  • Assist with tax accounting and compliance activities where required.
