Investigo Government Solutions (IGS) is partnering with police forces across the East Midlands and Gloucestershire regions to identify and deploy experienced PIP Investigators for a range of specialist investigative teams. These opportunities place you at the centre of some of policing’s most important and complex investigations, supporting victims, safeguarding vulnerable people, disrupting organised criminal networks and helping to bring offenders to justice.
Whether your experience lies within Major Crime, Serious Organised Crime, Public Protection, Child Protection or Safeguarding, these assignments offer the opportunity to make a lasting difference whilst working alongside highly skilled investigative professionals.
Roles available:
- PIP 1 and PIP 2 investigators
Locations: East Midlands and Gloucestershire
Rate: £170 per day inclusive of holiday pay, paid weekly
Why these roles matter:
Every investigation has a story. Behind every intelligence report, safeguarding referral, victim statement or arrest is a person relying on skilled policing professionals to deliver answers, protection and justice. These opportunities provide the chance to play a pivotal role in significant investigations across the region. You will help progress cases that impact communities, protect vulnerable victims, disrupt organised criminality and support those who need help most.
As an investigator, your experience can directly influence outcomes, uncover critical evidential opportunities and help deliver justice for victims and their families. Whether supporting a major crime enquiry, tackling county lines activity, safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, or investigating serious offences, your contribution will be visible, valued and meaningful.
This is more than an interim role. It is an opportunity to continue supporting the public, apply your expertise where it is needed most and join teams committed to protecting communities across the East Midlands and Gloucestershire regions.
Who we are looking for:
We are keen to hear from PIP 1 and PIP 2 accredited investigators with backgrounds in Public Protection, PVP, Child Protection, Child Exploitation, Major Crime, Serious Organised Crime, County Lines and broader safeguarding investigations. Whether you are an experienced investigator seeking a new challenge or looking to utilise your specialist skills on an interim basis, IGS can offer opportunities across multiple policing and broader law enforcement environments.
What you will be doing:
You will work within specialist investigative teams responsible for managing serious and complex investigations involving vulnerable victims, child abuse and exploitation, organised criminality, county lines activity, major crime and safeguarding matters. Independently progress investigations and identify evidential opportunities. Gather intelligence, obtain statements and undertake enquiries with victims, witnesses and suspects. Prepare robust case files for CPS submission, court proceedings and disclosure requirements. Work closely with partner agencies, safeguarding professionals, prosecutors and policing colleagues. Maintain accurate investigation records and ensure cases progress within organisational and judicial timescales.
What makes these opportunities rewarding:
Contribute to some of the region’s most significant and high-impact investigations. Work alongside experienced investigators, safeguarding professionals and specialist operational teams. Apply your existing skills in environments where your contribution can have an immediate impact. Continue making a difference to victims, families and communities through meaningful investigative work. Access assignments across Major Crime, Serious Organised Crime, Public Protection and Safeguarding. Benefit from full-time and part-time opportunities, flexible arrangements where operationally appropriate, and ongoing contract opportunities with potential extensions. Receive continuous professional development and support through IGS.
Essential requirements:
- PIP 1 or PIP 2 accreditation.
- Proven experience conducting serious, complex, major crime, organised crime, safeguarding or public protection investigations.
- Experience gathering and evaluating evidence from multiple sources.
- Strong report writing, case file preparation and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage investigative workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and police investigative systems.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain vetting clearance such as NPPV 2/3, SC or MV.
Desirable experience:
- A BE and video witness interview training.
- Experience within PPU, CAIT, CET, Major Crime or Serious and Organised Crime units.
- HOLMES experience or advanced interviewer accreditation.
- Experience acting as Disclosure Officer or Exhibits Officer on serious and complex investigations.
- Experience working within multi-agency safeguarding environments.
