About the role
As we continue to scale, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced MLRO to ensure our regulatory compliance and strengthen our financial crime prevention framework.
As the MLRO, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) compliance, ensuring the business adheres to UK regulatory requirements. You will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our compliance framework, liaising with regulators, and advising senior management on financial crime risks.
What you’ll do
- Act as the designated MLRO, ensuring full compliance with AML, CTF, and sanctions regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls.
- Oversee transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting (SARs), and investigations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the FCA, NCA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on financial crime compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments and advise on mitigation strategies.
- Lead periodic AML audits and reviews, addressing any findings and implementing corrective measures.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
- Support broader compliance initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Risk, Legal, and Operations teams.
What you will need
- Extensive experience in AML/CTF compliance within the financial services sector, preferably in a FinTech or investment platform.
- FCA-approved MLRO experience or demonstrable ability to obtain approval.
- Strong knowledge of UK AML regulations, including the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and FCA requirements.
- Experience in managing financial crime risk frameworks, including transaction monitoring and SAR reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage regulatory relationships and respond effectively to audits and inquiries.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in AML, CAMS) are highly desirable.
