About InvestEngine

InvestEngine is everything the modern investor should need. Unbeatable value, market-leading automation, and built for easy, long-term investing. We’ve built a strong foundation, have over £3 billion invested, award-winning service, and a passionate team, now we’re ready to scale.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Head of Product, Business to join our Product team. You'll act as the mini-CEO for our Business Investor vertical, accountable for its growth (customers and AUM), profitability, and long-term success. You'll define the vision and strategy, own the product roadmap end to end, and lead cross-functional execution with a strong bias towards delivery. Your mission is to build the UK’s most compelling, easy-to-use investment platform for SMEs — helping businesses manage cash and investments with confidence, act tax-efficiently, and access value-added services — while driving sustainable growth in customers, assets under management, and contribution margin. This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with exceptional execution, has strong commercial instincts, enjoys solving complex customer problems, and thrives in fast-paced environments with a high degree of ownership. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Data, Marketing, Operations, Risk & Compliance, Finance, and senior leadership, with the autonomy to own solutions from strategy through delivery and measurable business outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Define the 3-year vision and 12-month strategy for the Business Investor proposition, grounded in SME customer needs, market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the Business Investor proposition, including positioning, target customer segments, commercial strategy, and core value proposition.
  • Build business cases for major product investments, partnerships, pricing initiatives, and strategic bets using clear unit economics and risk trade-offs.
  • Own the Business vertical's commercial performance, including customer growth, AUM, revenue, contribution margin, and overall business performance in partnership with Finance.
  • Define, monitor, and deliver OKRs and KPIs across acquisition, activation, AUM growth, retention, revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
  • Lead continuous product discovery through customer research, usability testing, market analysis, and data-driven insights to identify the highest-value SME customer problems.
  • Translate customer insights into an outcome-driven roadmap with measurable hypotheses, clear prioritisation, and effective sequencing.
  • Drive end-to-end product delivery, ensuring teams remain focused on outcomes, ship value frequently, and maintain a high execution pace.
  • Act as a hands-on product leader when required by unblocking teams, making trade-off decisions, defining MVP scope, and ensuring delivery quality.
  • Design, test, and optimise pricing models and monetisation strategies that balance customer value, competitiveness, profitability, and regulatory expectations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop strategic partnerships and integrations that strengthen the SME proposition and create measurable customer value.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing product organisation, evolving the team structure as the business scales.
  • Establish effective operating rhythms, governance, decision-making processes, and accountability across the Business Investor vertical.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations to ensure new products and features deliver strong customer outcomes while meeting regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of product leadership experience, with direct ownership of growth outcomes including customer acquisition, revenue, AUM, retention, and other commercial metrics.
  • Experience building products for SMEs within investing, banking, payments, accounting, lending, or other financial services.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with exceptional execution and a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, unit economics, profitability, and making effective trade-offs under constraints.
  • Proven experience building, scaling, and leading high-performing product teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Risk & Compliance.
  • Strong understanding of how AI can improve product quality, team effectiveness, and customer outcomes within regulatory and data constraints.
  • Customer-focused, commercially pragmatic, and comfortable making high-quality decisions in ambiguous environments.
  • English fluency (C1 level and above) — we are a UK-based company, and the role involves regular communication with the team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing partnership and integration ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with investment products, wealth management, or business cash management.
  • Experience working in high-growth fintech or start-up environments.

How We Work

We’re a lean, fast-moving team that values clarity, ownership, and transparency. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, the responsibility to follow through, and the backing of a team that values clear thinking and open dialogue. We believe in solving problems at the root, not just treating the symptoms.

What We Offer

  • Impact from day one: You’ll take on meaningful work from the start, tackling real challenges that drive the stability, efficiency, and growth of our business.
  • Room to grow: As we scale, you’ll have opportunities to expand your responsibilities, influence how we work, and help shape our long-term direction.
  • Transparent and open culture: We share decisions openly, keep communication channels clear, and encourage collaboration across every part of the business.
  • Supportive, experienced team: Work alongside talented professionals who are experts in their fields — smart, driven, and generous with their knowledge.
  • Remote first and flexible: Work in the way that best suits you. We focus on results, not rigid hours, and trust you to manage your time effectively.

Our Hiring Process

  • Introductory call with our Talent team
  • Competency interview with a hiring manager focused on your experience
  • Gamified cognitive assessment to understand how you think and problem-solve
  • Senior leadership interview to explore alignment with our culture, values, and strategic direction
