- You will write code, develop data models or troubleshoot bugs to support the delivery of high-priority or high-complexity products.
The work we do in Growth Analytics underpins commercial outcomes, improves decision-making, and ensures Viasat remains at the forefront of delivering innovative connectivity solutions globally.
The day-to-day
Although no two days are the same, you will
- Lead team prioritisation and check-in, fostering collaboration and removing obstacles to progress.
- Evangelise AI as both a code-assistant and a value-creator, helping the team design or modify products to be \"AI first\"
- Write and review SQL and Python code to support product delivery or platform operations in Growth Analytics.
- Represent the wider team in technical forums and cross-functional programs, acting as the change catalyst for new process and technology.
- Actively collaborate and build partnerships with colleagues at Viasat to drive engagement in data products, improve platform stability, and refine requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and whiteboard sessions to design \"gold standard\" commercial data models that meet the needs of all Growth Analytics and our commercial analytics partners.
- Act as a mentor and coach for the team, supporting the development of both technical and non-technical skills as part of a high-functioning data team.
- What you'll need
- Strategic Vision: Experience building an ecosystem of data products and flexible data models where the outcome provides value greater than sum of the individual parts.
- Technical Expertise: Strong SQL and Python skills; experience with Big Query, DBT, and Prefect or similar.
- Leadership: A passion for mentoring and coaching with a delivery mentality; experience using Agile techniques in data.
- Collaboration: Ability to build cross-functional relationships and deep understanding of relevant adjacent domains.
