About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Relationship Manager to join our Property Entrepreneurs team at Investec. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving relationships and client outcomes within an existing client portfolio, primarily focused on commercial and real estate transactions. You will also be expected to deliver ancillary targets across our Private Banking product set, supporting clients in achieving their financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement:
- Develop and implement a client engagement plan to maximise sales opportunities and enhance face-to-face interactions.
- Continuously review your engagement plan to identify missed opportunities for strengthening client relationships.
- Create strategies that provide exceptional client experiences, ensuring Investec remains top-of-mind for their financial needs.
- Uphold our consumer duty responsibilities, ensuring that what is right for the client results in optimal business outcomes.
Lending Turnover:
- Originate, assess risk, and appropriately price lending opportunities with a focus on:
- Residential Investment Loans
- Commercial Investment
- Mixed-use residential & commercial
- HMOs
- Self-build and complicated ownership structures
Sales and Engagement:
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Investec\’s offerings, including our Private Client products and partnerships with Rathbones Group.
- Develop expertise in the Real Estate market and private client lead transactions.
- Collaborate with your team leader to refine client engagement plans and drive growth through targeted sales campaigns.
- Work closely with offshore banking teams and other onshore core client groups to share best practices.
- Understand the regulatory and risk environment, ensuring adherence to responsibilities for the business and clients.
Performance Management:
- Meet performance outcomes outlined in your framework, focusing on both quantitative and qualitative aspects.
- Continuously assess performance to identify improvements in commercial outcomes, including contact strategies and referral generation.
- Engage in continuous learning by identifying skills gaps and co-creating development plans with your team leader.
Data, Analytics, and Market Insights:
- Take ownership of client data and leverage CRM tools to drive performance.
- Stay informed about market trends and economic factors that may create sales opportunities.
Qualifications: Core Skills and Knowledge
- Strong credit risk knowledge and analysis specific to Real Estate transactions.
- Ability to understand complex income structures and underwrite property transactions.
- Proficiency in reviewing valuations, technical due diligence reports, and property-level reports.
- Knowledge of jurisdictional property risks and regulation.
- Excellent communication skills with strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Energetic self-starter motivated by client interactions and problem-solving.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to influence and build rapport with clients.
- Resilience and a commitment to continuous learning and adaptation.
- Good economic, geopolitical, and industry knowledge.
