About the team: At Investec Bank UK, the Sustainability team plays a strategic and operational role in embedding environmental, social and governance (ESG) priorities into the bank's business model, operations, culture and decision‑making. The Sustainability team combine strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery, supporting areas such as sustainability reporting, communications, modern slavery governance, social impact programmes, volunteering and broader ESG initiatives. Sustainability is positioned as integral to Investec's long‑term commercial success, not a standalone function. This role supports the delivery of our sustainability strategy through collaboration, thoughtful analysis and a focus on long‑term impact. You will work closely with colleagues across the bank to turn commitments into meaningful, measurable progress.
What will I be doing?
- To proactively and consistently provide full communications, operations and reporting support to the Sustainability team. The role will report into the UK Head of Sustainability.
Communications:
- Manage internal and external platforms (webpages, intranet, LearnSpace etc.) across the business and showcase the impact of the community initiatives internally and externally.
- Lead external communication review processes, actively partaking in anti-greenwashing content creation activities ensuring we have processes/checks in place to adhere to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with Marketing and enablement services to identify synergy opportunities and develop effective communication strategies.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to build awareness and keep up to date with developments in sustainability, including emerging trends, regulations, and standards, and apply this knowledge to inform and shape sustainability strategy and initiatives.
- Create and maintain quarterly newsletters, a communications calendar, and a library of resources (articles, images, videos) for sharing our annual plans, campaigns, case studies, and sustainability reports.
- Manage campaigns including fundraising initiatives and events across offices, including Christmas Jumper Day, Christmas Toy Appeal, and Giving Tuesday.
Operations/Administration:
- Assist in managing various processes with other teams, including the business continuity plan for operational resilience, rewards review with Finance & Tax, overseeing standard operating procedures, and supporting audits.
- Support with finances, knowledgeable of expenses and invoice processes.
- Managing partnerships with our Payroll Giving provider and the Charities Aid Foundation.
- Assist with team projects, including ad-hoc tasks, preparation for the Investec Donations Committee, and organising team events and meetings.
- Supporting administrative tasks for the team including, stationary equipment, managing subscriptions, team mailbox etc.
Reporting:
- Manage data collection for volunteering and fundraising for year-end reporting at Investec PLC offices.
- Assist in developing a streamlined reporting process across geographies, particularly within Investec PLC.
- Prepare Sustainability reports, focusing on collating information for Investec PLC's contribution to the Investec Group Sustainability Report.
- Collaborate with the team on B4SI for social impact reporting and data assurance.
- Work with the Reporting and Analytics lead to compile charitable spend data, coordinating with contacts across Investec plc offices for accuracy.
Project Support:
- Manage day to day running of partnerships.
- Support and manage volunteering activities.
- Manage Payroll Giving initiatives.
- Manage National fundraising day activities.
