The Financial Planning, Analysis and Strategy function plays a central role in supporting Investec plc's strategic decision-making. The team develops financial forecasts, produces insight-led performance analysis and partners across the business to support executive-level decision-making and drive financial performance.
This role resides with the Central FP&A team and is responsible for producing group management reporting including reports to the Board, liaising closely with Investor Relations during market updates, providing ad-hoc analytical support for strategic decision making and partnering with Technology to evolve our core Finance technology capabilities.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded FP&A professional to gain exposure to senior decision-making, group-level performance reporting, market-facing analysis and finance transformation in a banking environment.
- Review financial performance, identify key drivers and work with Finance Business Partners to explain results and drive performance
- Creation and distribution of regular ExCo Reports and Board papers
- Coordinating regular financial forecasts of P&L and key Banking KPIs
- Consolidating the annual 3-year P&L & Balance Sheet plans
- Supporting Investor Relations' preparation for Earnings calls
- Collating and reviewing the annual stress scenarios as prescribed by the Stress Testing and Capital Planning teams
- Assistance in preparing the presentation of the final plans by senior management to the Board
- Monitoring and analysing industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks
- Driving system improvements to continue streamlining processes and ensuring new business and reporting requirements are accommodated
- Elevating existing reporting standards as necessary
- Supporting the ongoing Finance Transformation agenda and other ad-hoc projects as required
Core skills and knowledge:
- Qualified accountant, or equivalent professional qualification, with relevant post-qualification experience in FP&A, management accounting or financial performance analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to build relationships, influence outcomes and work effectively with senior Finance and business stakeholders
- Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Strong attention to detail
- Pro-active work-ethic and high levels of curiosity
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of Oracle Fusion or Essbase/Hyperion desirable
- Previous experience in Financial Services/Large Corporate (Preferred)
