About the team:

The UK Senior Credit team covers deals from the Fund Solutions ("FS") team whose strategy is to provide debt financing to closed end private capital funds and fund managers throughout the life cycle of their funds in the UK, mainland Europe and the US. The FS team have a proactive, flexible and solutions-driven approach and seek to customise debt solutions that fit the client's needs. Structures which UK Senior Credit need to assess as part of their analysis are typically capital call facilities, GP financing, NAV facilities and secondary fund leverage.

What will I be doing?

  • Credit process and deal management
  • Participate in Senior and Executive Credit Committee meetings for Fund Solutions transactions
  • Critically analyse & assess the merits of new deals presented by the front office desk to the UK Credit agenda
  • Assess / document annual reviews, increases and/or amendments on existing loans
  • Research counterparties, markets and/or products as required and provide detailed insight to Credit and Risk Management stakeholders as required
  • Provide members of the UK Credit Committee with appropriate business, credit and financial analysis of proposed counterparties and transactions
  • Present views on risks / rationale to support a transaction or otherwise to the team
  • Write up decisions, outcomes and conditions that form part of the Credit Committee's view and recommendation
  • Work with the Credit Administrators to facilitate an efficient Credit process, ensuring all required information is available to the Credit Committee for its decision-making, as well by documenting Credit Committee decisions (credit summaries & minutes)
  • Prepare deal summaries and transaction updates for credit reporting of the loan book to the board, rating agencies and other stakeholders
  • Research and develop further analytical approaches to each portfolio (quantitative/qualitative)
  • Be a key point of contact for Credit Reporting to ensure accuracy of reporting dashboards, ensuring they are in line with Risk Appetite & Senior Management requirements
  • Actively participate in IRB model discussions and output required to deliver the project

What are we looking for?

  • Finance Degree/ Newly qualified ACA or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in banking / finance / accounting firms, ideally with credit or transactions experience covering Fund Finance, or Leveraged Finance
  • Proficient in reviewing financial statements, assessing company strength from a credit perspective, and identifying credit risks
  • Understanding of various debt / equity / fund structures would be an advantage
  • Capable of evaluating risk/reward in Fund Finance / debt or Leveraged Finance transactions
  • Good understanding of the Private equity markets, trends and macroeconomic impacts
  • Skilled in general credit analysis and adapting them as needed to the specific counterparty and product as required
  • Interest in risk management
  • Good MS Office knowledge
